Hey, I know this might be off topic but we have been doing some runs with a discharge underbase with very good results. Actually we prefer it. And by doing a hybrid print with the Virus inks you can really get the most out of your press. For example, on our 10 head / 12 station press we ran a discharge base, followed by a solid discharge color, then a quick flash, the second highlight white that Virus calls for, flash, and then the four Virus CMYK screens plus an open head for say a metallic ink. So if you have a 12 or 14 head press you can really do some cool stuff. Or better yet and oval. We will be doing some more on Friday so hopefully I will post some pics this weekend of a few different jobs.

I'm really curious about the virus inks.  I'll be looking forward to the pics.  This winter I plan on doing some experimenting.
It's not a job if you love doing it.

Been in the industry since 1996.  5+ years with QCM Inks.  Been a part of shops of all sizes and abilities both as a printer and as an Artist/separator.  I am now the Ink and Chemical Product Manager at Ryonet.
