Picture taken 1984 or 1985, the deal was they had to work for dad until they found a job that paid better, they both did.

Let me tell you, as a guy without children, that the note is absolutely priceless. You, are a lucky man...

That is wonderful Brad you sir have a smart little lady there, I know you are very proud :'(, looking at Greg's pic reminded me of when we first got into biz and my youngest son could walk under the pallets on the manual press, I'd tell him little man one day those things are going to get you.

Cat's In The Cradle

Harry Chapin

My child arrived just the other day
He came to the world in the usual way
But there were planes to catch, and bills to pay
He learned to walk while I was away
And he was talking 'fore I knew it, and as he grew
He'd say, "I'm gonna be like you, dad
You know I'm gonna be like you."

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man in the moon
"When you coming home, dad?" "I don't know when
But we'll get together then
You know we'll have a good time then."

My son turned ten just the other day
He said, "Thanks for the ball, dad; come on, let's play
Can you teach me to throw?"
I said, "Not today, I got a lot to do."
He said, "That's okay."
And he walked away, but his smile never dimmed
And said, "I'm gonna be like him, yeah
You know I'm gonna be like him."

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man in the moon
"When you coming home, dad?" "I don't know when
But we'll get together then
You know we'll have a good time then."

Well, he came from college just the other day
So much like a man, I just had to say
"Son, I'm proud of you. Can you sit for a while?"
He shook his head, and he said with a smile
"What I'd really like, dad, is to borrow the car keys
See you later; can I have them please?"

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man in the moon
"When you coming home, son?" "I don't know when
But we'll get together then, dad
You know we'll have a good time then."

I've long since retired, and my son's moved away
I called him up just the other day
I said, "I'd like to see you if you don't mind."
He said, "I'd love to, dad, if I could find the time
You see, my new job's a hassle, and the kid's got the flu
But it's sure nice talking to you, dad
It's been sure nice talking to you."
And as I hung up the phone, it occurred to me
He'd grown up just like me
My boy was just like me

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man in the moon
"When you coming home, son?" "I don't know when
But we'll get together then, dad
We're gonna have a good time then."

had to bring the boy down one afternoon we did not have a sitter. he had the time of his life running around the shop. his favorite part was grabbing the shirts off of the dryer and putting his face on them because they were so warm! we are a family business, still work with my dad, brother and uncle. i think my dad was having flashbacks watching him run around the shop. either way, its a pretty cool feeling knowing he could be the 3rd generation if he chooses to. as long as i don't run the place into the ground before that!

This is an example of how a business is build from ground up handed down from son/daughter over the years and one day if not already this biz is a very successful powerful company.

that's awesome Brad, shows you how much they pay attention and learn by their surroundings.. I'm trying to do the same as you, set them up to take over the company or do whatever they want. Fine by me either way....although the way it's going, my daughter is going to be a teacher and my son is going to be batman....sooooo ;D

Ha, I like the Voodoo IPA sitting there.  I have to say I haven't been too impressed with any of the New Belgium IPAs.

This is my daughter from almost 6 years ago.  My shoes were killing me, so I went with just socks...not a normal thing...she's been in the shop a lot over the years.
