When you plan on layering, choose a material with a clear, see-through carrier to make lining up the transfer easier. Materials with a frosted carrier can make it more difficult to register the foreground layer on top of the background.
It also helps if the product is a hot-peel release and has fast-tack multicolor application. The fast-tack application allows for a shorter heat press application of background layers to make alignment of foreground colors easier and speeds up production. These characteristics will not only speed up production, but combined, they help eliminate shrinking or stretching of background colors that can make registration of top layers difficult.
