Catch of the day
« on: January 29, 2017, 08:46:27 PM »
So today I went fishing been like 3 weeks since I've been, we've had so much rain and the little creeks I fish at were very high, but anyway this is what I hooked today in about knee deep water, the big one was 5 lbs the other two maybe 2.5 lbs each.  Talk about fun pulling those bad boys in and yep I'm fishing from the bank right close to the water, creek fishing baby!!!! ;D

red/black plastic worms hooked wacky style, I try and get a few hours of fishing on the weekends, I look for spots that nobody's been in and clear out a spot to cast.

Ahh largemouth, they taste so good....  I am about to get back into fishing after a .... many year.... hiatus.  Pacific Northwest we get far more trout than bass.

Time to learn my new neck of the woods.
Been in the industry since 1996.  5+ years with QCM Inks.  Been a part of shops of all sizes and abilities both as a printer and as an Artist/separator.  I am now the Ink and Chemical Product Manager at Ryonet.

Well.... if you where fishing here, you could walk right out onto the lake to fish ("Hard water" fishing baby !!!.... AKA ice fishing).
Minnesota has wonderful lakes and rivers, most of them have very clean water.
Unfortunately, many lakes have a "one meal a week" recommendation for larger fish (Pike and Walleye) due to mercury concerns.
The good news is.... smaller fish species (Crappies, Sunfish, Perch) are just as tasty... just as fun to catch... and clean to eat.

It's also legal to "spear" fish here (on the ice).
You set up a dark house, cut a bigger hole 2'x3' in the ice, drop in a decoy and wait patiently.

Nice catch for sure!  I'm about to see if I remember how to cast a lure myself.  I mean it this year.  I've spent way too much time working and not enough fishing.  That pic just makes me that much more determined.

That's a nice haul for the winter time.

Around here I all but quit fishing come November.
Except for sturgeon. Damn them.

Pffft I catch bass that can eat those for snacks. Ok Ok Striped bass

No seriously nice catches, I do not fish fresh water anymore but when I did nothing was as exciting as hooking a 5+lb large mouth. I always fished reservoirs right at sun down using floating rapalas. The large Mouths would explode out of the water like a tarpon if you teased them right. Some times you would get lucky and snag a nice pike.
