You need the art to start with, if all you have is the printed shirt, the results would be fairly poor, unless you're willing to put a large amount of hours into doing it. My advice would be to hire one of the artists on the board to do it for you, probably your least expensive way to go. Good luck...

Having access to the art would also more than likely assure that one has the rights to print it.

Okay, perhaps you should have mentioned that in your initial post. You should probably also describe the software tools that you have available, and whether you are hoping to print as spot colors or process.
This recently posted tutorial may be a start, especially since this is not the actual art you will be separating.
