Digitizing Software
« on: December 15, 2016, 08:40:51 AM »
We are thinking of updating ours.  Wilcom has several options.  It's hard to decipher what's what.

What does everybody else use?

Pulse DG15 Illustrator Extreme license.  So I can't help much.

I like it quite a bit, no experience with Wilcom though.  My understanding is those 2 are the top programs.  Pulse has been pretty good at pushing some updates / new features the last couple years.

We use Tajima machines so our first machine we bought with the Pulse software.

I use DRAWings. It is integrated with Corel Draw, so importing is easy.

I have Creative drawings 8. it limits me way too much, zero control of density or underlay. I was looking at DecoStudio e3 but it only works with X6. Is DRAWings Pro any good? I see it offers everything I need.

Yes. I guess I should have specified. I have the Drawings Pro 6.7    They says it is supposed to work with X6 but it doesn't. It works fine with X3.
I have looked at DRAWings  Pro 8, but it didn't have anything that I would really use. So I'll keep the 6.7

I don't feel so bad now... I thought EVERYBODY used Wilcom. I just have the
old Gunold WINgs. It does everything I need and the only thing I have seen
with Wilcom is a turning fill.

I also have Datastich Pro..I would classify it as the most confusing piece of software I have ever used. everything is performed by sequenced mouse clicks. I gave up.

there is also Sierra Stitch ERA, looks ok. I think wilcom is the way to go though

We have Sierra Stitch Era 15 but the only thing I use it for are basic lettering, viewing existing dts files I don't have tech sheets on, and a few other minor things. I just don't have the time to learn how to use it to it's fullest extent but it does seem very capable. Especially for the price compared to others.

We got Wilcom with our Barudan and were digitizing right away as it works with Corel. Still lots to learn, but the software is extensive and we'll be going down for a 3 day course this Spring.
