free stuff
« on: November 19, 2016, 11:37:15 AM »
Need to make room so some things have to go

24" x 10' national dryer, needs a belt and a few wires, you figure out how to get it, it's yours.

stack of 23x31 and 20x24 aluminum frames - maybe 50 or so of ea size.

a few M3's and various roller frames, all 23 x31 I believe. maybe 5 or 6 in total.

It's a long shot, but I thought I'd ask you guys before they all go to the scrap yard.

...keep doing what you're doing, you'll only get what you've got...

Someone will snatch that up.  I'd come grab it but I got my own crap to get rid of.

He roots for (and suffers with) the Bills, something only a local could do.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

Easy killer... want to split them?

I was thinking I wanted them but I wasn't sure I wanted THAT many... 25 wouldn't be bad though.

... reminds me of a Craigslist post I responded to back in 2007. "Free conveyor dryer". It turned out to be about 20' long... way to big for a home operation, like mine. But I was able to cut it down to 8' and reuse most the important parts of the dryer (including the belt). Switched it over to a PID controller and solid state power control relays. Total cost was about $200 (that included new steel frame rails to hold the conveyor rollers). I still have a spare IR panel from the project.

The best part of the deal was a M&R Blue-Max manual press that hadn't been used for quite awhile. They hadn't mentioned that in the Craigslist post... but wanted it "gone". I cleaned it up and sold it on EBAY, for $1200 and the buyer was tickled pink to get it at that price.

I made it right, to the shop that gave me the equipment,by troubleshooting and repairing the IR bump section of their gas conveyor dryer (it had been "sticking" in the ON mode and scorching shirts). Replaced the mercury power contactor... problem solved.

I have since learned that the time spent tinkering with used equipment can hold back the real purpose of being in business.... namely growing sales and production.
But, I do fondly remember those days.

Bless you, Homer for offering the items to those who can make good use of them.

With me, it was the exact opposite. I met a guy to check out and buy a Workhorse Mach VI, and he then wanted to throw in an Advance American Phoenix  dryer (and a million old crappy DIY wooden frames, LOL) when he realized that he could empty his storage unit with me in one fell swoop.

I would take the 23x31 rollers if they haven't already been taken...
