Rutland Peak LB White

I just got a quart of this from my supplier,  going to try it out tomorrow.  Any of you guys using it yet?  Ill do a write up on my findings later in the week.  Ill be running it tomorrow.

I tried it a few months ago.

Got boards and ink up to print temps (boards at 120 - ink around 90 degrees)...

The ink was harder to shear than the Street Fighter Low bleed.  Thicker and stringier...  I had to work harder to get it to print well.  Pulled it out and put the SFLB in, no issues.

For an ink that comes in at maybe $2 less a gallon in a 5 gl pail..... I would stick with the SFLB.  I was told it was made to compete in the L.A. market at a competitive price point.

Now, I also have some gripes about Rutland consistency for the last year or so....  So, my sample could have been bad.
Been in the industry since 1996.  5+ years with QCM Inks.  Been a part of shops of all sizes and abilities both as a printer and as an Artist/separator.  I am now the Ink and Chemical Product Manager at Ryonet.

When I got my first samples of Streetfighter (both Cotton and Low Bleed) I was amazed that my guy sent full gallons. He told me that he never trusts small sample containers as they are much more succeptible to temperature and environmental changes.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

My samples were pour offs from the gallons my supplier got :)

Side not about consistency:  Ever since Rutland brought Union manufacturing in house.  They have had consistency issues...  The production batch my sample came out of could have been wonky.

As it is:  My last 4 orders for SFLB - Every single batch has been different.

I tried it, printed nice, floods really nice on the auto, just didn't have the opacity of Legacy white, not a winner for me.

The inconsistancy was what we were experiencing also with the street fighter. It seemed to blow in the dryer also alot more that we could deal with. Hopefully those issues are worked out with the peak..

You could just use Quick White and end your search for the best white out there. Rutland whites suck and cant hold a candle to it. When the Rutland Rep tells me he cant touch what we do with it that tells you something. I am not anti Rutland either we use their water base mixing system and am happy with that.

Quick white what we run.. been running it for the majority of 10 years. But when i got here they were running street fighter. I hate that product. We also use the WB pigments and 80 percent of all production here is discharge

I just ran a small run of 50 shirts with this, and I have to say it is a solid white.  It floods great, clears great and the more you run it, the easier it is to work with.
Im getting great opacity as well.  This will for sure be my replacement to Street Fighter LB.  Just thought id share.

Union got some decent white inks in their line up but still nowhere near as good as some of those Wilflex whites. Getting some Epic Bright Tiger white next week. The Wilflex X Ryonet Lave Cotton white works well too.
Anyone still using QCM whites?

My first 5 gallon was the QCM 158 glacier white. It was terrible. That is why I started using Rutland. I'm going to order a gallon of the LAVA soon to test.

We are probably 70% discharge now but Quick White will always be here. I have every white Rutland makes and even some they do not but had us test and they are all still on the shelf. Their whites just dont cut it next to Quick when printed properly.
