ISS Long Beach compared to AC
« on: November 10, 2016, 01:06:54 PM »
How different is the Long Beach show than the AC show? I've heard its a lot better with more vendors, products, etc. Is this true? I go to AC every year. This would cost me around $1500 (for two of us). I'd hate to go and see it's really not much different than what I'll be seeing in AC in March.

Thoughts?

Worth it, at least once.

Never been to AC, but they're increasing the floor plan this year and it'll be long beach's biggest show.  Staying on the Queen Mary is fun.  Go once and you'll never have to wonder how different it is from the AC show.  Plus it's great to get to Cali for a few days when it's cold everywhere else!

I'm in Massachusetts. This is definitely part of the appeal.

consider it a vacation and be done with it. You don't really need to go to the shows, so if you do it's a luxury.
Now that we have this sorted out, very much so looking forward to seeing you there!!!

Any thoughts on least expensive airport to fly into? And the proximity of that to LB?

LB was actually not that expensive, but in the end I always fly to LA and take the super shuttle or rent a car. Shuttle, from what I remember is $18 with some sort of coupon.

There is a regular shuttle from LAX.
This will be my 4th ISS Long Beach.
I always see and learn a lot, I think it's one of the bigger shows.
My ticket to LA costs $1200 so you guys have nothing to complain about.
ISS is an excuse, I really go for the spare ribs and beer across the road.
Hope to see a lot of you you there this Jan.

First, while AC isn't bad; Long Beach dwarfs it by far.

Second, Uber is your friend. Last year, I flew into Orange County and the Super Shuttle was $35. And it stopped like five times before LB. I took Uber back for $18 I think. And was all alone!
