DIY Screen Drying Cabinet
« on: November 08, 2016, 02:20:26 PM »
Got our new LED unit in, so I decided to build a new drying cabinet to go with it.  Nothing fancy, just thought Id share.  Plans were simple, and cost less than $100 to build.  Holds 16 screens.

How are you liking the exposure unit? What emulsion are you using?

I have to say it is really incredible. I am going to do a proper halftone test soon, but I just had a job come through, and I was easily holding 6% dots on the low end.  8 Second burn times with Aquasol HVP.  Ill make a separate post about my findings.
But i am bringing in Murakami T-9 to test as well.

Before getting a commercial dryer at an auction, I would a 2 x 3 frame, and use inside corner molding for the slats. Primitive and effective, with a window fan. Or, close it in and put a dehumidifier in it. A fairly simple build ( If I could do it, anyone could do it)

Ya know....put some light blocking swinging doors and you have a storage cabinet as well.

You didn't say, is this thing in a light protected room?  If so, as Emily Litella used to say.....never mind....
