Smallest, Cheapest, Lowest Amp 36"+ Wide Conveyor Dryer?
« on: November 15, 2016, 01:45:26 PM »
I am in the process of downsizing my operation and I really need a conveyor dryer that is smaller than my current 10' x36" National, but I still need a 36"+ wide belt.  I would love to find something that was 8 feet long, 36" wide and under 30amps, but I haven't found anything that looks like it fits the bill.I would love to grab one of the Vastex 54" dryers as those seem to fit the bill in a lot ways, but they are still pretty huge and expensive.  I am not concerned with throughput.  I don't need any bells or whistles.  I just need to be able to cure my 36" wide flag prints and have it take up less space and use less electric.  Any ideas?

Finding one that will fit under the 30amp requirement is going to tough. Are you on single or 3phase?

Our Vastex ECII is 30 amps. It is a 30" though, not sure if that is too small for what you need.

I have been dealing with this as well and the only one that fits the bill is the Ranar Curestar 6000.

The EC-1-54 comes in at 37 Amps, so a little over, but still workable.  I guess I should have said "around" 30 amps.  30" wide is too small unfortunately, but I know there are lots of options in that size.

This looks pretty much perfect honestly.  Definitely going to keep that one in mind.

I'm getting a Curestar 6000 installed as we speak. I'll give you any feedback you'd like once I'm up and running with it. Should be in my new space functionally by next week.

Keep in mind, the website I bought it from had it listed at 22 amps but it actually runs at 28 amps.

I had the 4000 in the past. Great dryer, nothing fancy just works and works well.

Hey Gerry, do you remember what production numbers you were getting out of the 4000? They said the 6000 will do 250-300/hour but I have my doubts. I'm hoping to get at least 200/hour.

with the 4000 I pushed about 150 an hour left chest type prints, I think you will get 200 easily with the 6000, higher wattage and wider belt.

Awesome!  If you don't mind, what did you pay shipped?  Can casters be added to the legs easily?  Do you do any waterbased or discharge printing?  The EC-1-54 looks more appealing due to the ability to modularly upgrade down the road, and the higher throughput for plastisol is a nice perk as well, but I do worry it may not be great for waterbased inks since it doesnt really have a traditional heat chamber.

I think the total was $3900. I don't really do any water based or discharge, but it is something I want to mess with and start offering to my clients so I'll have more info on that a little down the road. It looks like casters will be easy to install.

This will be our eventual backup dryer. I'll probably upgrade to the turbo jetstar eventually but that new workhorse dryer definitely caught my eye now.

We had a 6000 and ran above 450 per hour on plastisol. Crank that thing up to 900 and run like hell. For WB we ran around 250 per hour.

Wow, that's great news. I'm planning on a spring install for an auto so a consistent 300/hour would be great. Didn't expect those WB numbers at all either.
