Doable with 4 colors?
« on: November 02, 2016, 12:54:49 PM »
Wondering if yall think I can print this comfortably with four colors: Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue with the hues matching the main area of color.  Main issue I'm seeing is the darker underlay on the Orange and wondering if using the blue under it would muddy it up too much.  Thoughts?

Could you do 4CP and have someone do some high end seps for you?  I know 4CP is a pain on a manual, but it is a lot easier since it is a white shirt.

What would be the benefit of 4cp instead of sim process for something like this?

wider color gamut with 4cp than 4 color simulated.

Dan is my go-to guy for stuff like this.  I put it on press and it works..

I think that's doable in 4 colors sim so long as they are ok with the blends being a little off from the original art.

as long as it matches the 1.25"x1.25" proof on their phone, you're good. ;)

I'd go CMYK, because some of the color is tinted with black, no combo of CMY will produce that...

I would do 4 color SIM PROCESS..... you can use the deeper blue color to shade under that orange to create that deeper orange color

if you need seps we can help with that if dan and the others are too busy

Green
Blue
Orange
Yellow

depending on how the seps are done you might need a flash or two

heck with that...dtg.  100% cotton tees are cheaper than dye sub shirts.

Quality on either would be excellent.

DTG isn't in the budget from my local guy, even on white. Shirts are 100% cotton so dye sub is out.  I offered a few kinds of transfers but they want screen printing

That's what I was thinking, glad you think it should work.  Sent you  PM a minute ago.

I advised them already that it wouldn't be perfect but we could probably get close with 4 or 5 colors and they were ok with that fortunately.

Any tips on how to sep this?  Would love to knock it out of the park.

For print order it looks like the best option might be green>blue>flash>yellow>orange  thoughts?
