GSG Raises $35K for Pancreatic Cancer Research
« on: October 26, 2016, 01:01:00 PM »
This year, GSG celebrated the 17th anniversary of the company’s annual Hank Granberry Golf Classic Tournament, which is a fund-raising event honoring H.L. “Hank” Granberry, father of GSG President Mark Granberry, who passed away of pancreatic cancer at age 76.

Held Friday, Oct. 21 at the Stonebriar Fazio Resort in Frisco, Texas, this years’ four-man scramble raised $35,000. The money benefits Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, two organizations that are dedicated to pancreatic cancer research and treatment. To date, this event has raised more than $100,000.

Pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States and is anticipated to become the second by 2020. It is one of the nation’s deadliest cancers, with only 8% of those diagnosed surviving longer than five years.
