To my Workhorse Know it alls...
« on: October 10, 2016, 03:21:35 PM »
Quick question for you Workhorse guys out there, or those that know Workhorse presses well enough.

I recently noticed that when I drew a center line down my #1 platen, and centered my screen to that line, my #2 platen was off.  I then looked at all of the other platens, and the remainder were off (except #7).

How can I correct that? I tried loosening the bolts below to move it side to side, but there is a bolt that keeps the platen "centered" when it is tightened.

Am I making a issue out of nothing?

I just want to know if this is something that can be adjusted.

Thanks again for any help.

Attached are some images of the center line of the first platen, and one that is out of wack.

What press? On my Mach VI it would mean that the brackets are mounted slightly off.
I they are off to the left, and you need to move them to the right, you can add shims to the inside of the bracket or left side of the arm.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

This would be for the Cutlass. Should not be like this.

2 things I would check (just because I am me).

they should have been centered when the press was set up so.
did you remove plattens at anytime and put them back on in a different direction or platten arm?

on my freedom we have the plattens numbered and they go back on same arms in the same direction they came off.

but anyways to adjust left and right you want to center the platten bracket to the center of the arm by loosening the 3 bolts for DB and DC,  those will allow the bracket left and right.

What I would check first is whether your platen locks are loose.
That will make your platens have play in them and shift if you rotate the press manually.

That was the first thing I checked. Though I have removed the platens, and did not mark what arm they needed to go back to.

Thank you for this. I'll make some time to adjust my platens. I also numbered the platens which I did not do when I swapped over to sleeve platens.

Yeah just as aauusa mentioned, tech should have made sure all pallets were centered to the heads, so whether your working with adult, sleeve, or youth pallets center line will be true and always stay the same on any and every pallet.

Call Phil in the tech dept and have him walk you through centering your pallets to the print heads. Get a clean screen with a center line all the way down the middle and a clean squeegee or standard non-winged floodbar also with center line ready before you call......If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

It's a good reference point to number your pallets and put them back on the same arms to eliminate all variables when something is out of whack, but this is not necessary (as long as pallet-brackets were mounted correctly).  You should be able to remove and put pallets on any pallet arm and center line should stay center.

Now removing pallet arms from the actual base of press for whatever reason is a different story..... those absolutely need to be put back in the exact same position.
