Some products are great and at the price point for specific things. What I would do, is test the ultimate goal in your exposure.
Create a test file (go download the one in the free art section) that contain a full gradation of 1-100%
This test tells you want your exposure is currently holding with your output device. If it's not where you want, you then adjust your rip output, as well as adjust other things in screen room like emulsion thickness and coating method and then lastly exposure "time".
With any shop, even in the worse case scenarios, you will want to at least hold the 45 lpi and hold a great amount of that fraction transition. Maybe a garage shop (assuming just starting out) might be happy holding down to 7% and 90 %.
any LED exp. unit worth purchasing should be able to burn at least this and more.
Also look at what the exp. unit does at 55lpu with same test.
That would be my litmus test.
If all your shop ever does is solid athletic prints, then it's not a major concern for you (at the moment) but Know tho, that when somone says "all they ever print are solid prints" will be lying to themselves. You WILL eventually, at some time be doing some halftones. So you should know what you can and cannot do with that exposure device.
