"Boosting" Sericol Discharge?

Testing out Sericol discharge on a job where I'm trying to get a "close enough" match on a job I usually do with Matsui (which I have grown to hate for a variety of reasons).  LOVE the consistency and easy of mixing the Sericol, but man is it pale compared to the Matsui.  Tried 3,4, and 5% activator (more makes it more pale, less is better but still pale).  I am testing out boosting it with the matsui pigments, but was wondering if anyone had any experience with doing that and if there would be washfast issues due to not enough binder in the sericol?  So far I did a 3% boost and got close, but would love to bump that up a bit...

Use caution.  There's probably some overhead in the base/binder for more pc but how much?

If you have a discharge compatible binder you could add it would be some insurance but test your mix of course before running. 

fwiw, we hit the same wall with sericol, needed more pig loading.  Except for the blues which were totally perfect, gorgeous and the cleanest I've found.

I see they still have the same problems. We stopped using that for this very reason. We complained to our Rep and he said that he did not even know if it would be around in a year or so. Sericol is 1/10 of 1% of Fujis business and they treat it that as far as customer service goes.

That sucks.  I like everything else about the ink.  Easy to mix, no pigments or additives (besides the activator), stays wet in the screen an incredibly long time, etc.  Just pale...

sericol was great before others started hitting the market hard, now we left sericol aswell for the same reasons.

If you like Sericol, CCI is basically a carbon copy of it.  Their RFU line should be more/less a drop in and you can boost it with CMS pigs.  The quality of the ink is probably not on par with Sericol but that being said we use a lot of CCI base and white with good results.

I agree that the Sericol inks behave very nicely in the screen.  We do still use their flo colors as we've found them to be the best and I keep mulling using their blues for a few standard colors because getting nice, clean blues with the Rutland system hasn't been easy for us.

Edit- I just saw your last post.  We use CCI Base, White and Rutland WB99 pigs. Sericol for flo colors.  Additives are a mix of CCI, Rutland and Matsui.

we are 100% wb/dc shop and we print mostly fashion-high end tourism stuff. we spent close to a 10k in R&D, tried pretty much all brands that are available in US, IMHO hands down Image Technology wb and discharge system are the most consistent and best inks we worked with. very clean deep and bright tones, excellent wash fastness, great performance in long runs (over 5-10K in summer heat). we developed our own formulation system with these inks, so it does take a bit of learning curve, but it is worth it. sericol stuff was so so for us. it is OK, but it is not comparable with IT. If you need to "boost" it , lube it or overload it with pigments, chemistry is not there.

We have the T-Charge ink system which consists of 14 ready mixed colors , you just have to add the discharge powder. We specifically made the colors on the strong side so this might work for you . You can purchase a kit witch has all the colors and powder if you'd like to try it.

I didnt realize CCI had released an RFU mixing system.  Definitely interested...

Do you have a sample of some kind so I can do some comparative testing?

Never heard of this system.  Was their PMS matching system fairly accurate or is that what you meant by developing your own formulation system? Who carries them out of curiosity?

I am not sure who carries them in US, you should look them up online. We are in B.C. Canada and we mix our own formulations for in house pms library of inks.
