finished 1200 imprints on the manual
« on: October 25, 2011, 12:41:39 PM »
Just finished up a job that felt more like an epic journey , 600 shirts front and back heather grey 1 hit orange. Orange sucks so I had to flood print flood print but still faster than flashing. 36 hours by myself my help never showed , profited 50 bucks an hour not bad for a 1 person manual shop. Previous largest job on the manual was 500 whites 2 color front and back wet on wet. This job really put the push technique to test, no arm or wrist fatigue what so ever.

Our biggest order was 25,000 4cp on a manual.  For Ted Turner.  Had to do it in 5,000 pcs increments.

Sounds like to much fun for me even in my younger days

I was too young to really remember it.  It was I think around 1988 or so.  So autos were harder to come by at the time.  they were around, just not nearly as common.  Our first auto was the prototype Javelin.  We bought it off the floor of the ISS(I think) show in Atlanta.

I probably could have gotten it done quicker if it wasn't for the drumset breaks to help keep my sanity. If this had been a 2 persons job probably 12 hours, I tend not to stray away from the press as much when I have help. Adult ADD maybe?

it's hard to focus for that long.  You have to get breaks in there to keep your sanity.  Trust me, I know.  Sometimes when i am working late I'll break for early morning breakfast before going home.  You have to relax and unwind occasionally.

I would have at least changed something (mesh, EOM, ink viscosity) so that the print
would only be flood/print. Save 1/4 of your time at least.

80 an hour = 7.5 hours per side = 15 hours press time. Musta been some long breaks lol! I know if you are by yourself it is tougher to keep a good flow going.
