So 4 years ago I was fresh to the screen printing industry, printing on my Ryonet silver press.  No proofs, eyeballing pms colors, doing pretty much everything wrong looking back at it.

This is why being organized with your art, and proofs and color specs is all important.

I printed a job 4 years ago for 22 v necks.  2 color front 2 color back.

That same client needs 26 shirts this last week.  "Np problem" bella V neck shirts, easy peasy...

I get an email 2 days later complaining about placement on the shirts.  I really always have a problem with womens shirts placement, but I always seem to get it "right".  This one wasnt "exactly like the one we printed before"

Trying to find my sample from 4 years ago was not an option, but I did get a comparison email of the placement between the 2 shirts.

I dont think it is all that bad, but they dont like it, so I am making it right for them.  I have been doing tech packs and mockups, and keep all my ducks in a row.  Just because, you never know what you will need.

I feel like I am still learning, and ever more so, I am getting reaffirmed that the steps I take now to be organized, are worth the time.  And yes I started counting in all of my drop shipped shirts from clients, after my last ordeal...

Yeah it is a little low for a v-neck. I hate printing on women's deep v-necks

Don't really matter because every print is going to fall in a different place for every woman that wears one even if they are all in the same place...the old shirt print looks like the V neck is not as deep as the V neck on the new or it could be the way I'm looking at it ;D   I'm right there with you guys I hate doing left chest for women, we had one customer buy wife beaters and wanted a left chest I told her that every print was going to fall different as most of the women she got these for are top heavy, now we put the print in the center chest LOL.
Life is like Kool-Aid, gotta add sugar/hardwork to make it sweet!!

Yep, important lesson. We no longer "grab a close color off the shelf" for any any any job ever.
Everything must be repeatable.

Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!

make sure you ge shop management software. It makes it easier to document and later find the printing specs.

We also send art approvals with all orders, especially the repeats. Eliminates the possibility of, "Oh, I meant the other AC Crest design!" Don't ask, had to eat a bunch of triblends . . . to be fair, it was not the customer's fault though, so now we get approvals on EVERYTHING. That is, IN WRITING!
