Epson Cutting Blades?
« on: June 09, 2016, 12:09:42 PM »
Being new to my Epson 4800 and having no experience with other printers that print and cut from a roll, I'm not sure what to expect from my cutting blade when it comes to the inkjet film.  My blade looks and feels sharp, and it is cutting "fine", but the cut isn't very smooth.  It kind of seems like the waterproof coating on the film is tearing on a small scale, so I am having to kind of run my finger along the edge of the cut to clear away random little tiny bits of plastic.  Should the blade be giving me an edge close to what I see from precut sheets?  Just want to know if I need to buy a new one.

Also, an idea where to get a "new" blade that isn't $90 bucks?  Seems like robbery for a small cylinder of plastic, a spring, and one piece of metal.
