Mni Sprint Burner Purge issue - help!
« on: May 26, 2016, 06:04:03 PM »
Hi all, of course at 5pm, our M&R mini sprint is having a purging error.

I"m trying to get in touch with an after hours tech, but in the mean time, anyone have any guesses as to what could be going on? Power and Gas seem to be fine. Our blower motor sounds like it always does. All lint traps are cleaned weekly.

I'm wondering if our flame rod went out?

what do you mean by purging error and how do you know it's a purging error. Purging is just the time the dryer blower mother runs before it goes to pilot.

I guess i only say it's a purging issue because the alarm turns on as soon as the purging light turns on.

After talking with Ryan Barger, I think it's now a bad sensor, But i don't know which one!

does your stack exit out the roof.. been up there lately, seen the exit.. make sure it's not linted up or causing backpressure to trip a sensor.

How old is the flame rod and spark plug? After you hear the spark plug click do you get any flame or hear it ignite?

If you get an alarm directly after the click of the spark plug and no flame, it sounds like the flame rod. If you're going to replace the flame rod replace the spark plug as well while you are in there. If its the flame rod you should be able to rub it with some Emery cloth and get it to work for the time being, while you wait for the new one.

Also what John said. And when you say "blower motor" do you mean the blower that blows the air for the shirts, or the one that pulls in the air for the gas ( the one at your knees, on the controls side )?

If you have a bunch of lint in the intake blower, take the guard off and use an air hose and blow it out really well.

Sorry I missed the part about it running all day. (Not on start up).

You may also want to open your stack and make sure no lint is blocking copper tube connecting to the air sensor ( should be pointing up, maybe to the side, inside the exhaust blower)

You can disconnect the lines, the one going into the dryer and the one going into the the exhaust blower, and blow into them to make sure there isn't anything blocking the the lines. I have had these sensors go out before. ( I now keep one of those on hand now as well )

Thankfully this happened at the end of the day, and the jobs were compatible with the second dryer we had running!

After working through it with M&R after hours support for about 45 mins, we determined it's a bad belt motion sensor!

now to overnight one of these bad boys for next week!

Crazy. For the dryer belt?
