Bucket Scoop Lid remover

Some time back, I was given a nice thank you gift of a tool that I initially thought was overkill., the D2 Bucket Lid Remover
Let me begin by saying that as I wind my operation down, I open less than a dozen new buckets a year, so I didn't think that this would get much use.
Then I misplaced it, but that's another story.
At any rate, I found it, started to use it, and damn, it does what it's supposed to do! Not cheap, but it really works.
I also don't hesitate to replace lids securely now that they will pop off easily.

Be advised that this one is listed as fitting most 1 and 2 gallon buckets (I've never seen a two gallon)

Nice tool, I'm a cheap azz and just use a flat head and pry around the lip until most of it is open and just pull the lid off, but yeah I know about the finger tips getting ripped

Well, at least you guys with fivers have a cheap alternative via kiingscreen's link. Probably a little more work than mine, but maybe still a finger saver.
