Sroq warranty and rental program
« on: May 16, 2016, 11:44:32 PM »
I just learned that the Sroq warranty is 3 years parts, labor and travel. So any warranty repairs needed in the first 3 years is actually covered at 100% with zero cost to the customer. That sounds pretty roq solid to me. Also found out about the rental program in that if you rent it for a year and decide to purchase it at the end of of that year that they will apply your deposit and all payments to the purchase and the 3 year warranty would then begin giving you essentially a 4 year warranty with covered repairs at zero cost to the customer. That is a pretty bold warranty.

Yessir! Only company in the industry doing that right now I believe, which is what they were going for. Only way to shift an industry/way of thinking is to be the change you want to see, and i'm glad i'm along for the ride with a Roq.

It's also retro active. We took delivery in January 2015 and our warranty was automatically extended when they launched the 3 year warranty.

I am doing the rental program, we take delivery of a ROQ You 12XL in three weeks.  The terms are laid out very plain, it says exactly what the payoff will be for every single month of the rental agreement throughout the terms.  So if 4 years 2 months from now I decide to pay the machine off I know exactly what the buyout will be.  We are very excited for June to get here to say the least.

you're gonna love the upgrade!

side note, I find the 'press rental' program interesting...  especially with the fact that ryonet/roq have the press phoning home.. if you stop your payments, the press stops.... seems like a decent business prop for them.

I think that that is great for Ryonet/Roq but really hope that nothing ever goes wrong with that system. If it's anything like my cable company, good luck!
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

The way it was explained to me is the press doesnt phone home, but there is a series of serial numbers it accepts,  when you make the monthly payment they send you that months code.  and the press keeps running.  There is a cutoff date each month for the payment to be made before the press shuts off.  Basically they ensure they get paid before my mortgage.  As the press is what makes me money its payment will be made first and foremost.

It lets a shop like me who probably couldnt get a new press, get a new press.  The press will enable me to do things faster than i currently can, and let me print things i cant currently print.  Not to mention not having to print on 20 x 24 frames anymore.  There is a sizable down payment required, which covers return expenses if for some reason I default and have to return the press.  I am sure the downpayment helps weed out those are less serious about this as well.

Hmmmm... I looked into the rental program last year. Maybe my offer wasn't as sweet, but the payout total was no where near the amount of money paid in each month to rent. The deposit and all of the shipping and install fees were obviously included, but the monthly payments were only a small percentage off the total payout.
Also I was getting a much better monthly payment rate for a bank loan than the rental plan.
But yes, the warranty was about triple the value of other companies warranties.

Yes the quicker you pay the machine off the less it will cost you, it is more like leasing a car with a balloon payment at the end.  I have already talked to the bank about financing the machine, but for me, being a newer business, it is better to rent for a year or two until i have a proven business model and a better understanding of what i can expect sales to be before signing a loan.  As of this current route it is a lot lower risk for me personally.  As soon as i feel confident I will switch over to a conventional bank loan.  I dont want to get into the specifics of the terms, but the sooner the better, so it is not a 100% payment applies to the total purchase price as Maff mentioned

Maybe I made a mistake on the 100% rental payment thing, I was going on a phone conversation and not anything written so I may have been mistaken.

Some folks here need to stop worrying about how much stuff costs versus how much it will make you...If by the time all things are considered you can carry more to the bottom line, best to go for it....I have seen some here "flounder" for years because they kept waiting for a better deal to come along....
