When searching for a new or used automatic consider this-
« on: April 19, 2016, 08:53:14 PM »
Service.
So many choices, what to buy?
Make sure service is one of your top priorities. If your machine is down you make no money.
I have a M&R and over the weekend I had a problem on my 12 color.
3 platens  printing out of reg. I emailed Rich(244) about the problem. He responds on the weekend and gives his advice.
Monday morning I get a call from the service dept to see how they can help.
I didn't ask Rich to do this or even call Mon morning.
He took this upon himself to do this.
How many owners from other companies will do this on a Sat and have the service dept call you first thing Mon morning.
There are many good presses in the field but service is what keeps you going.
Thanks Rich and M&R service.

Had a problem with my I-image, all bosses were in a meeting and couldn't get Dan to me until he could wait and get permission.  One call to Rich and literally less than 5 minutes later Dan was on the road to my shop!  That's how we roll!

I always wonder what these emergency service calls cost. I know that equipment being down is more expensive and I get that, just wondering. What would a normal service call cost and what Does that include?

There are many companies out there and on this board. My tiny company buys from a lot of them and yes, we use M&R equipment as well. I have also had the pleasure of using other companies equipment in the past. I have used almost, not all, but almost all the ink available in North America. I really don't think any equipment or ink or supply company / distro in this part of the world is trying to not do their part in what they offer. No one is trying to pull a fast one is what I am getting at. When I go to a trade show (ISS Long Beach) they are all there. Yes, all the different shades from blue to brown to red to green to this and that. I wish there was a polk a dot company, that would be awesome. What I am saying is I don't think there is a company at ISS not doing good business with their clients. I could be wrong but how do they show up year after year? This forum is an amazing place for people like me. Every single time I log on I learn something. Heck, I even have friends that I would bend over backwards from this board. So I am going off target here and I know this sounds cheesy but we all just need to get along on here and spread helpful info and stop saying who is better with regards to this and that. Especially in an industry where there really are no standards and the variables in your shop are different from mine. I will end this though with saying yes, Rich and M&R does offer a support level I have not experienced with any other company. That is just my experience, not yours, and not saying whatever color equipment / ink you use doesn't because once again if they didn't they would not be at ISS year after year. So stop complaining and get back to work. Good night

My list of companies that I've gotten truly outstanding service and support from is actually somewhat short...

M&R
Saati
Wilflex
Matsui
Nazdar
Shurloc
Murakami
River City Graphics
Spot Color Supply
Lorchem/Landa (makers of our pressure washer)

all of these companies have gone above and beyond to 'make things right' when I had questions or issues.

I'd love to make special call outs to the people at the companies listed above who have called after hours or on weekends, but each and every one of them has responded off hours to emails or phone calls.

not surprisingly, most of of them are regular visitors here... (side bar because I know they're listening -- I really like Saati's products, I wish they would take a stronger social media presence, and share knowledge here along with the rest of us)
