home printer venting fumes

I just tried discharge tonight on a simple school design, LOVE IT but the fumes are killer. What do you guys use to vent and any suggestions to a home printer as far as how to keep the house from smelling like a print shop?

good luck, even with good venting, discharge fumes carry.

Try to keep as much airflow as possible.

I haven't attempted discharge from home for that reason. I don't have enough ventilation. When I print long runs I usually have a couple of fans running and open the windows... keeps the basement from getting musty.

I wouldn't think of running true old school discharge in a residential neighborhood, let alone in my house.
I have a detached shop on my property.

That's one of the reasons that I went with the hybrid plasticharge from Wilflex, when I needed discharge. And yes, the dryer vents to the outside.

I don't think I will print inside the house with it again, its just plain bad

Neighbors would'nt be too pleased I can imagine, same reason why I never got into flat stock printing at home.

Except for vinyl ink, the times in the past when I offered and did flat stock printing, fumes were not an issue. Then again, even in my old set-ups, I have always had windows at the very least.

I found the Plasticharge to be way worse stink-wise than waterbased discharge.
Instant headache with that stuff.

There's a guy behind my shop that refurbishes newspaper stands. Pretty awesome.
Been doing it for 30 years. Complains that "you can't get the good paint" anymore.
I don't think he needs much more, already a beer short of a six pack.

Well after the stinking week I am refurbing the garage and moving the press out there. I picked up a nice 1390 cfm exhaust fan to put in there . That should work. Frog any change of getting pics of your garage setup for ideas?

Not a lot to show. I just vent my dryer, run a box fan in one window, open another on the other side, and also have operating skylights.

If you run fans, position them, making sure to not blow into your flash or conveyor! It doesn't take much of a breeze to muck up the cure.

And for the record, no garage here, but a detached building about 15' x 30'.

thanks, after the discharge issue last week I figured its time to move, I have a 14x20 detached so it should be enough room for now. Just trying to figure out how to bring washout booth drain and water in with minimal issues
