We have a shorts only policy for men.  We also require all men to wear flipflops and vest.  You should look like your about to go to the beach when you come to work.  If you wear a suit to work we will be sent you home.

To be honest we don't care what we wear as along as its safe and does not offend people.  Shorts and tank tops in the summer for sure since it gets so hot.  Shoes always on the floor that our tied.

Have to say if shorts werent allowed in my shop during the summer in Austin I would freaking die.  Thankfully I'm my own boss and not a lunatic though.  I rarely even wear "clean" cloths when printing honestly since everything has ink on it.  I will change into a polo for a client meeting or whatever if they aren't someone I know wouldn't care.

Don't worry, we have a shop dog that will chase away anyone dressed like that who tries to get inside... 
NO we don't want a yellow pages ad.

Jean or shorts and a tee. I had a few weeks where I wore a nice polo and customers kept asking me where I was going. When I said no where they would asked why I was all dressed up. I tried :-)

this is the first time I've seen replies to this poster... somehow I knew they would be like that. I last wore a suit on Labor Day weekend... and I'm a freakin' president...

I hardly ever wear one, but the ones I have are nice. Sometimes, you need to show respect, or act grown up. Nothing wrong with a sharp looking, tailored suit... but to wear one to our jobs, in a 95° shop, jeez... I'm hoping this poster will go away, it's pretty much spam.

I had a sales rep years ago that ignored the advice not to wear a tie (and don't come without a 12 pack). He brought the 12 pack, but wore a tie. He left sans a tie, snip snip

I work alone in my garage, so attire isn't particularly an issue. Frankly, the guy up at the interstate exit ramp with the cardboard sign looks better than I do most days, and might smell better, too. I'm damn sure he has more money in his pocket than I do . . .

did the tie snipping happen before or after the 12-pack was consumed?

I like your suggestion of having sales people come in with beer   -- hmm....

I came in one Saturday wearing pajamas.  We are closed on that day anyway.  Other wise people would swear I'm part of many families with all the different family reunion shirts I wear.
