GSG, a full-line distributor of equipment and supplies for the decorated apparel, graphics, and sign industries, organized two events to raise money for benefit Pancreatic Cancer Action Network,
http://www.pancan.org/ during the Fort Worth Imprinted Sportswear Show in September. Hank Granberry, the father of company president Mark Granberry, passed away of pancreatic cancer on August 11, 2001. He had been an integral part of the success of GSG in its early days.
A golf tournament was held on Friday, Sept. 23 at the StoneBriar Fazio Resort in Frisco, Texas. Participants enjoyed lunch, a full day of golf, and an awards dinner in the evening. During the show Thursday, Sept. 22 through Saturday, Sept. 24, two specially designed T-shirts were printed on an M&R Diamondback press and were available for sale for $5.
The two designs were created by Lon Winters, Graphic Elephants,
www.GraphicElephants.com, Elizabeth, Colo. A photo-realistic design, featuring a porch with a rocking chair and a guitar, was printed with Wilflex Epic faux water-base inks. A Fort Worth commemorative design featured a steer’s skull and a guitar. It was printed with multiple textures including clear high-density gel and foil. Spec sheets were available for both designs, and Winters was available to answer questions about how the prints were done.
The golf tournament and shirt sales combined raised more than $15,000 for the cause. Winters has created a special Halloween design, which will be printed and for sale in GSG booth # 2345 during the SGIA show in New Orleans, Oct. 19-21.
