Some folks claim good luck with some of the cheaper Chinese junk versions.
Some of the older stuff may give you problems with support, software, and parts (blades and cutter strips may be needed fairly often.)

Pierre was looking into one. Pick his brain. For those who only dabble, they might be fine.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

I have an expert 24, it has been about a year now and no issues. I print right from corel. I would buy another one in a second. Their tech support has been good and the thing just runs. I did look at a roland and they do seem to run faster and track better on long lengths but they are 3 times as expensive. I paid $410.00 with shipping on ebay.

I have a GCC Bengal that I think retails around $900....  Last fall Imprintables Warehouse was giving them away free if you signed a deal to do $1000 in business with them over the next 12 months.  I did that in the first 3 months easily.  It has paid for itself over and over and over.  I will be using it tomorrow for name drops and numbers on 127 hoodies.

Last week I took mine to an event and sold about $500.00 worth of names and number along with window decals. It will pay itself off in no time

My budget is around 300 bucks USED with software and maybe some rolls of vinyl. Found a few deals on c-list but figured I'd check here first as I trust you guys more than c-list people... that's a given.

multicraft has cutter with software and few rolls for $499. That's brand new with warranty. not sure how good or bad it is, but hey, how bad can it be?

Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!
