Question on printing a canvas bag with no adhesive.
« on: December 10, 2015, 05:26:12 PM »
Ok, so not really without adhesive, but I dont have a platen for my auto to fit a 8" bag to print 6" wide.  My question is this.  Could I lay the bag on the platen and just print one color without issue?  Has anyone done this?

I have 500 bags to do, and I really dont want to print them by hand.

I did an order of wine bags recently this way. The bag was a natural color and the design had a little bit of a vintage feel, so those two elements helped. I only had a couple of scraps.

Not ideal, but possible.

We just print 2k of bags we just layed them on the platen since they were pretty flat one color one stroke and rolled, we did have the some glue on the platen but nothing big as long as your bag's are pretty flat and let your print stroke stay on the bags and not skip from the platen on top of the bag you should be fine.
Life is like Kool-Aid, gotta add sugar/hardwork to make it sweet!!

I just usually put them in the kids boards, but I guess that's not an option for you.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

I do this pretty often for a bunch of odd items, though I am printing them manually.  If it is dark ink on light, one stroke and done.  Super easy.  I find maxing out off contact helps with any shifting or smudging that might happen from the screen pulling away at the end of the stroke.

I've been printing these this afternoon with no issues. I did increase my off contact and that helped out a lot.
