Smartwasher

So what is your verdict on the Smartwasher? I am most interested in hearing from people that use plastisol. Chemical usage? Mats? Number of squeegees and floods cleaned a day? I'd love to hear the good and bad. Thanks!!!

We are really liking our unit...... Only been using it for about 2 months now but we clean around a minimum of 100 blades/floods a day in ours. We only use it for plastisol inks as we do our hsa/h2o stuff in a different washer. Instructions tell you to change the pads every 30 days but we haven't changed them yet as they seem pretty clean. Same goes for the chemical we have not touched the chemical yet/had to replace it so I cannot provide any useful info on that. Overall we are very happy with our smartwasher for squeegee's and floods. Previously we were using a shurloc cleaner but this method is way faster for us, and so far chemical cost is looking to be way cheaper as well.

we've been using ours for about 4 months. We have to buy so much chemical for it, it's kind of a bummer.

We change our mats every month, as instructed. but the chemical evaporates so fast from our sink.

downfall is the chemical usage!  But it works great and we love ours.  Been using it for about 6 months.  You are supposed to take 1 layer of the mat out every week, that's how we do it, smartwasher is close to here and they came by and showed us everything.  I would definitely say do it to anyone.  IF YOU DO, TELL HIM JASON AT HIGH VOLTAGE PRINTS TOLD YOU TO DO IT!  I get some free stuff if you do!

You guys keep mentioning chemicals but it doesn't use chemicals.  Chemfree Corporation.

We are still using the Shur-Loc squeegee cleaner so I can't really comment on this but if we had more space I would consider it for sure.

Extremely fast evaporation! I only clean squeegees 2-3 times a week and I'm using 5 gallons of fluid every 1.5months!! That's $85 a pop. I'm honestly considering putting the thing on a timer. I know it needs heat to keep the microbes going, but even if it shuts off for days because of low fluid all I do is put another 5 in and it heats up and works fine. So why can't it just not be heated until I need it??? The microbes are in the mats so the heated fluid eats the microbes then sits idle and evaporates.

Think I'm going to test out a timer that comes on an hour before I get to the shop and runs a couple hours after I'm gone, then OFF the rest of the time.

It's either that or lowering the temp of the heater which isn't really possible without modifying the internals. Mine has a brand new probe on it so it shouldn't be running hot but it sits at 120 degrees all the time.

I heard you can have them raise the temp or show you how, maybe they can tell you how to lower it as well.

We don't have near that much evaporation.  Not even close.

Called Chemfree and they told me how to set if for 108 degrees. Will try the dipswitches when I get to the shop and see also what they're set at. Hopefully that will help.

Two dipswitches if you pull your cover off. Mine was set to 115 degrees. Switched it to 108. That SHOULD help keep the fluid longer without evaporation. We'll see. I love the thing.
