Question for NON rubber coated pallet users

Automatic users that don't have rubber coated pallets, what are you using for squeegee rubber? I think you guys were using a little softer material as the pallets are a little harder if I remember right? Also, any particular brand better than another? I'd like to avoid any of the high tech stuff (dr j, smiling jacks) although I will experiment with them at a later date. Just want to get dialed in with the basics for now. And if you're using different duros for white, top colors, and halftones let me know which is for what.

Keep in mind the squeegees you need aren't the standard M&R/anatol/Workhorse width... I forget of the top of my head, but I want to say the ones that fit are 9mm

Yeah, I'm looking now and it looks like it is a 9mm width. Good call. I would have totally missed that. What are you using in yours?

55/95/55 for white, and 65/95/75 for rest . . .

Tech Support might still carry the correct ones from Serilor, if not they drop ship them. Ryonet carries some but are actually longer (55 mm tall instead of standard 50) They have their use though my favorite is a straight 75 from serilor and the 65/95/65. You won't be able to get the 55/95/55 in your holders, they are too soft to get in. I got one in and that was it, I never tried again and don't use it at all.

Not to be a nitpicker, but a little concerned that this could confuse some  We are talking about squeegee rubber thickness rather than width, right?

On my MHM I use Serilor, triple layer.
55/95/55 but we find this hard to use, it's a bit soft.
We use mainly 65/95/65 for SIM 75/95/75.
What Pierre has sounds good, 65/95/75.
I found that rubber mat users were recommending higher shore numbers than I needed on a hard surface.

we'll I thought it was the same as yours, but I guess not. In any case, we have some used up blades I can send you so you can test for yourself.

you can't use the 65/95/75 as the squeegee holders can't just be reversed, so don't bother with that blade unless you like unscrewing bolts all the time to flip the squeegee. Don't the MHM holders come completely apart ie 2 pieces? I know ours do not and that is why 9.5 mm thickness is a no go unless you are a gluten for punishment.

MHM blade holders do split in to two pieces, but not like American style ones. We can't
fit 3/8 (American) blade in out holders, it won't sit evenly. I guess 9mm is the equivalent of
the metric standard.

Apollo is another manufacturer of 9mm blades.

You can print with both sides of the squeegee I the MHM.

I have a MHM e-type and I print white with 65/90/65 and top colors with either 65/90/95 or 55/90/55.  My prints are thin and smooth. I can't use a 55/90/55 with my white. I think its too soft and does not print detail well enough. I know this has alot to do with the ink your printing. I have other blades for water base single 60s and one shafted 50 that is great for white.
