Obviously, virtually any unit with a vacuum blanket is better than any compression lid or even ..."Ryonet’s time-tested method of applying positive pressure with the included thick foam pad and glass panel"
Then, you have the single point light, so two wins so far.

Obviously check the condition of the blanket and see if you can verify the age of the bulb (though at least the integrator will compensate for it's age for a while)
Those two possible major expenses could affect what you'd like to pay.

Huge upgrade imo with single point light source. I used bulbman.com to find a bulb for an old offset plate exposure unit. It was 35 bucks compared to 100 bucks. It was a 1k bullb.

Don't forget, it was the "sweet deal" that got him considering this, though an upgrade at any price is overdue!

we use that exposure unit and it works very well.  Lawson has very good help center if you ever need bulbs or service.  we had the capacitors in our go out and they shipped it to there people to fix and back to use in about 4 days total.  well worth the money.

our burn time using chromablue emulsion on a 230 yellow mesh screen is about 20 seconds.

rubber blanket is easy to replace about 150 for our last one

vacuum is very straight forward as well.  the main thing is to make sure the bulb does come on when it is in use and if not see if the bulb is bad.  another thing if the bulb is bad to look for is when the unit is on the shutter will be closed and you should be able to see a little red light on the mother board through the vents on the housing which has the bulb and capacitor.  if you do not see the red light then they may have bad capacitor which take about 500 to get repaired.

Cool man, just thought I'd toss it out there because I know when I formally post it for sale it will probably move quick. You are going to love MH over those flos and wonder why you waited so long. Night and day exposing difference man you will see. =)

Metal halide with a light integrator. That's pretty much what you want. And at $500...I hope you already went down there and bought it!
