I had an Action rubber-top platen on fire a couple of years ago...on my manual. Flames were standing about 4 feet above the shirtboard, had made a hole in the screen that NO ONE would patch. It was basically all consumed except the corners and an inch or two around the perimeter. I kept around for a few months as an "all ye who enter here!" type of reminder.
The Flash was pretty stanky for a few days, anytime it was on. And the whole shop smelled of burnt rubber for a couple of days. Garments seem to hold onto stench.
I was one lucky printer that nothing else caught fire. I self-administered a Dope Slap on the hapless perp. (Your's truly)
