Addalux 5000W Exposure unit
« on: August 14, 2015, 02:05:41 PM »
Hey guys, I ended up getting a pretty ridiculous deal on a 5000W exposure lamp.
I currently have a Olix AI 111 light integrator hooked up to my current lamp. It controls the opening and closing of the shutter right now.
This unit I just bought did not come with a light integrator. I was hoping to use the integrator I already have, problem is the plugs don't match up. I figured I would just make an adapter or replace the one plug so it worked.

My question is, does anyone have any idea if this integrator will work with the new lamp to control the shutter? Pics below-

It looks like it will; on our Violux 5000S, it's an extension cord between the integrator and the shutter, to run that solenoid. It also kicks the fan in after the exposure to cool the lamp a bit... You can probably just plug it in and see if it opens and closes the shutter... just put the switch to manual and see what happens.

Yes, you need to connect a 110 volt extension cord from the outlet on the power supply and connect that to the back of the AI 111.  That is an old light and problem getting parts for them may be your biggest problem.  We stopped selling them about 35 years ago.

We got it up and working like a charm! This unit does not have the 110V in that we were use to on out old unit. Not a huge deal.
The light unit itself is in amazing condition. Looks like it was used twice(I'm sure it has been used much more). As long as I can still get bulbs if needed that is all I care. picked this sucker up WITH a new bulb for $150...  8)
