Epson stylus color 3000
« on: July 10, 2015, 08:58:40 AM »
Well tried to print out design yesterday afternoon and low and behold my E3000 has problems. I am getting a distinct line (maybe 1/16'') through the design that is not filled in. It prints fine but is in the same spots it leaves the unprinted line. I have cleaned the head through the printer function and also filled the area where the print head rest with windex last night and tried early this morning with the line in the same spot. Really aggregating. Any thoughts? I leave the printer on at all times and leave a sponge in the print area with water in it for the moisture to remain in the head  area per Inkdoctor.

Scott you have a partially clogged head, I had that before and tried the windex no dice, so what I did was take that printhead out took some cleaning fluid and attached a hose with a syringe and pumped it through the head.  Kept doing it until the spray out was uniform coming out, I could see a whole row of those tiny pin spray holes clogged before I did that.

Darryl is right again. (Rattlesnake Killer!)

Sometimes a fairly hot water soak (with a little ammonia) just enough to cover the nozzles will help break it loose.

But like Darryl said, that printhead's prolly gonna have to come out. Once you've done it, removing and replacing it the next time is easier.

Here is a link to a service manual. https://archive.org/stream/printermanual-epson-stylus-color-3000-service-manual/epsonstyluscolor3000servicemanual#page/n73/mode/2up

I used this to remove my print head and replace it with a new one, which is almost impossible to find now. But your best bet is to remove it and do it the way D said to do it.

This is strange.... If I put a vertical band of black about 1'' wide and the length of the design (longated box) before the printer starts printing the design so it prints it first then it prints fine. Does that still sound like a clogged head?
