What sleeve pallet width are you running in your shop
« on: May 25, 2015, 07:57:08 PM »
Until nowall  our sleeve pallets are all 4 inches wide, but I get frequently requests for sleeve prints that exceed that width. Are you all running as well 4" wide pallets or is there really a market for wider impression width on sleeves?

I have 4 inch and 6 inch in my shop, and I use them both.  4" is great for koozies, tags, pockets, and "most" sleeve prints including long sleeves. 6" is great for "most" sleeve prints on short sleeves but not long, and on things like onesies, shorts, and a whole bunch of random promo type items.

I pretty much always try to use the widest that will fit into whatever I am printing since it maxes the print area.  4" is the standard for sleeves because it fits into all of them, long and short, kids, women's men's etc.  6" is awesome for most sleeves, but some kids and some women's won't fit well on it, so it isn't really capable of being the standard.

We go with 4" and if enough people asked we would make or get new pallets for the presses, but alas were sticking with 4 inch.

i used to run only 4" and they are great, but we bought some 6" and holy cow I rarely dust off the old 4's anymore.

Shorts, sleeves, pant legs, zip hoodies(yes, we print a few of these on there so the zipper won't rake the screen.  I would give up my 4's before the 6's.

we use 4" as well...

with a lot of the sleeve prints we do, there's no way we could fit them on a 6"...

I use 4" but I ordered them from Action and had them custom made shorter than my shirt pallets, this way I don't have to pull the sleeve all the way onto the pallet to print.
S roque have a pallet that has each end a different width so you can order 4 & 6 in one pallet.
That's neat.

We have 4", 5" and double 3.5"

The double 3.5" is used for sheer ladies garments that are a giant pain on 4" pallets, the 5" for everything else.  I don't think we've used the 4" in years.
