can you see if your light on the front proxy sensor is lit when it shuttles forward? if it's not you may need to re-adjust it or make sure the sensor is still good. I've had a couple come lose and do this, quick fix.
Sticky valve likely, the button is a manual over-ride. Swap with another on the machine or replace it and ifit's not bad you have a spare.
