Transfers on caps...

Do people do this? I haven't ever offered it. I'm not talking about the trucker foam caps, those should be easy. I'm talking about the run of the mill cap with a seam down the center of the forehead. I have had an old school air operated cap press for years that I've only used a few times for sleeves, never caps.

weve done it. We usually use light pressure, that way the ink sits on top of the seam

All the time, it's actually pretty easy, and they come out great. Get a decent hat press to make your life easier.

I have done these very little with plastisol transfers, but I had wonderful results with vinyl, both diecut, CAD cat, and some fancy print and cut. In fact, for the last couple of seasons, I've been adding numbers to the back of kids caps, and often they have to span  a seam though granted not as heavy as the seam in the front

Ok cool thanks guys. I didn't want to order caps, print/order transfers, and attempt this without some faith in it being possible to get decent results. My cap press is pretty nice for it's age. Has upper and lower heated sections but I will have to play around with the air pressure on it.

we do both here, cut vinyl and screened. It depends on the detail; it's easier to screen than to weed, screening it is. Fairly simple stuff gets cut.
