Gildan Transfer Tag Transferring to Board!

Our friend Killer recently posted on a Facebook page about the fabric content and importation tag of Gildan Dri-fits coming off on the board adhesive.
The print was high enough to not be able to avoid stickum there.
Is this becoming a common problem?

Never had that problem...

What kind of tac? It looks like only a handful came off, could it be a bad batch or was it just a low run?

He uses a water-based adhesive. I don't know what brand. I know he was spraying with a small auto paint sprayer from Harbor freight or somesuch place.

A handful came off? That's a picture of the board not the shirt.  I suppose it could well be a bad run of the labels, but still, what does a printer do? You can't really deliver a shirt this way. I was actually wondering if some fabrics are more likely to have crappy transferred labels than others.. They are still a relatively new addition to the screenprinting equation.

I must say I've never done the stickum test on any of my transfers, LOL!

I meant that it only looks like a few labels are stuck on the board, not hundreds stacked upon themselves.  Wasn't sure if it was happening on every shirt or just a few or if it was a small run etc.

Look at it mirrored, it's just about an entire label!
 I don't know if it was just a few or what.  I will try to get some more info, or get Johnny over here.

We had a few come off a 400 pc order of red Dri-fits last week. We also use water base adhesive.
This was also on a auto.

Don't try and print them using Dye Sublimation either, the care instructions and other info print melts and sticks the shirt together as well as to the platten paper.

I was using can mist tac, manual table was Hot, flashed this back 6 times.
I made a tac limit line and it got better.
Happened to like 8 shirts.
The doggone tags are just to tall...it's like a complete history and you still can't tell where it is made.
Way to much info.
It's almost 4" tall on the new Gildan Dryfit Sand Tees.

Why did you go back to spray tack? (Then again, Mike had some transfer transfer with waterbased adhesive).
Sounds like no matter which type of stickum, as long as the print is not going over the label directly, to avoid applying it right there with improved technique. Not insurmountable.
