Designspin - are they legit?
« on: March 29, 2015, 10:10:46 PM »
We need some art for a one off costume for a company promo movie. Has anybody got any experience dealing with http://www.designspin.com/?

Clicking "download" to go through to their shopping cart initiates all sorts of dire warnings of death and destruction to any credit card input to the site, and without obvious phone numbers I am hesitant.

Looks to be one of AKT's companies, although its one I hadn't heard of before now.  I'm guessing its either something new or one of their sites that is currently on the backburner.  In any case, they are a legit company so you shouldn't have any issues and if you do, you can just call them direct.  Their main site with contact info is:

Just a heads up for anyone in the same boat as I was and wanting to know the outcome.

I emailed what seemed to be the company owning or at least operating the designspin website asking for some clarification on the designspin web sites' security status, and if it was indeed a working web shop - I received no reply. I also tried to call them, but could not get an answer to a call.

Needless to say I got very cold feet about inputting a credit card number into the designspin website and went elsewhere for the required art; http://www.tshirtartworks.com.

I was a little hesitant again as this site just asks for cash to be sent to an email addy, however after biting the bullet (we are on a tight deadline), Eddie emailed me back within a few hours and later that night sent the artwork we purchased.
