EMULSION RECOMMENDATION PLEASE

I am thinking about trying a different brand emulsion. Part of our plan B program, which basically says never be single sourced on anything.
Currently we use Ulano QTX and are happy with it.
Can someone make a suggestion for Chromaline
and Murakami brands please
Price is not so much an issue as performance or suitability to what we do.
The specifics
manual printer
plastisol inks
spot color printer some halftones
we like to coat minimum 2/2
123, 156, 180 , 230 mesh on rollers all 30Nm or more
standard mesh but switching to s-mesh currently

Chromablue is almost a twin to QTX, just blue.  Works the same, for us.  Also, its WAY cheaper if you buy by the case than QTX.  Murakami HV or HVP are also good, I think Danny is using Aquasol.  I assume you are looking for another Photopolymer.

In Chromaline, for years I loved the PL (but I didn't like the price, and have switched almost exclusively to CCI PFX-HV) From Murakami, I have used the Aquasol HV, and still do the few times I use my Wilflex/Oasis Pasticharge

if you are not looking for an SBQ, we are in the process of switching everything to CCI DC Plus!  Holds amazing resolution and will work for plastisol and discharge.  And its green,  I was told by the CCI rep that their studies show that green emulsions hold better resolution than any other color.  Who knows..

Since Dirk added a different brand I will throw in my 2 cents worth.  Nova and QXL.  Both are Xenon and some of the best emulsion I have ever used.  The QXL is a thick Gasket emulsion and the Nova is a high detail emulsion.  Either with added diazo work great with WB and Discharge.  Just coat dry shoot dry and print.  No added steps necessary.  Nova is $52 per gallon and QXL is $68 per gallon.

We used Chromablue for a long time... we switched to Kiwo Onecoat and never really looked back.

Our supplier made a mistake and tried to make it better by giving us a "free" gallon of chromablue... ughh.. we couldn't use it fast enough to get back to our Kiwo.

They are basically the same thing, but the chroma blue has sticking issues and we have to powder the screens to keep the film from sticking.  It also stinks up the developing tank something terrible.  After going through that gallon we had to clean out the developing tank because just opening the lid would have the whole shop smelling like rotten eggs.

Another good emulsion from CCI is the HXT which I use and also Image Mate's DC 521 Blue Dual Cure emulsion both hold great detail.  The image mate is very forgiving on light sources's if your using a color mesh other than white.

Hxt use in water base or plastisol?. What is your exposure time.?

We just tested some HXT and for no diazo it works pretty well for detail. Easily held a 85 LPI 5% linearized dot on a 305.  Going to test it on some WB jobs this week to see how durable it is.

I have been using a few over a last 2-3 years. Started with Imagemate 701, then pricing doubled.
Then tried Chromablue from Chromaline. Loved everything but the blue color.
Finally, now settled at Chromaline CT-R which is pretty much Chromablue with red color

High on solids, pretty fast when exposing. Very easy to coat.

@ noortrd every thing J blue said and I've only did small runs of 100 or a little over with the HXT for DC and it held up good and that's using it without the diazo mixed in, yes I use it for both but mainly plastisol inks.

we've been using the Saati Red PHU emulsion for a couple months now, and it's pretty awesome. It exposes fast, holds detail great, and really stands up to DC and WB when coated/exposed correctly.
