Roland SP-540V Help! Encoder issues maybe?

Take a look at my photo if you don't mind and let me know what you think this is. I believe it to be encoder strip going out as I've been having some issues with prints staying straight lately. This is the first time I've seen anything like this.

Anyone have any ideas?
