Beach Towels

Anybody printing towels on a standard press (non belt printer) that might want to share your experience as I may have a customer that I can start putting my oversize print area to use and wanted to know if this is really feasible. I already know my dryer is not going to let me do any "real production", but it looks like I would be catering to the small run (less than 144 pcs) so I can deal with going slow. Anything else I should be aware of?

I've been reading about the plasticharge additive and although I haven't tried it yet, it's supposed to produce a soft print suitable for towels.

Beach towels? What size?

Low tension to drive in the water base on those puppies...

Standard 30x60 towel. Looking at printing around 24x36 but I'm going to push for smaller. My guess would static screens to be my best bet? Would low mesh count be preferred as well?

Use pigments and add little bit softener.

Waterbased ink, soft squeegee, lower mesh count (we use 150S), double hit, long drying time. 

Fine tune based on the length of the fibers in the towel. The shorter the better for printing, but we've had excellent results recently on some higher end luxury style towels with the above recipe.
