That was not the intent or desire of my original post. I just asked what you all thought of the show. Andy, can you just stop this now? Sorry I tried to get some information. Geesh

See Dave, it righted itself pretty well,  :)
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

Fine work Andy. I didn't want to see it go south. Too much of that in my opinion. (as well as a few others I talk to)

Mostly the same ole same ole as far as I could tell for our industry.... A few new players from europe with automatic reclaim machines, one of which I thought was pretty slick. Kiwo did not have their new cts there which I was hoping to check out. A bit more presence from hsa/waterbased ink companies which was nice to see some demo's of that.... But for the most part not a whole lot that was new, exciting, etc.... Mostly the same ole stuff

You are right.. there wasn't much in the way of NEW and EXCITING.. but holy hell was their monumental improvements across the board from equipment to emulsion.

Every single booth was sold out, the show was overbooked and 12k people were there on Saturday. The Conferences were standing room only and the overall vibe was printers are wicked happy right now making tons of money.

I guess those blue blinders you have on clouded your vision to all of that.

that european reclaim system was a total piece of crap after we talked to the right people about it.

Well if not being able to make it to the show floor because I had too many people to talk with is any indication, IT WAS A GREAT ISS SHOW.

I was at the show Thur thru Sat and only made it to the show floor about 2 hours total, and that time was spent with pre-show appointments.

Averaged over 80 people in my presentations and never ate a meal that did not have business conversation.

My apologies to the TSB members for missing the Friday night shindig at King's, I still have not figured out how to create 36 hours days while I am at an ISS show.

See ya in Atlantic City in March.

Was there some posts deleted or something?  I'm confused about needing popcorn.  PM me if it was too dramatic to speak of publicly.

The show was fantastic. Everyone I spoke to reported that it was the best show they had ever seen. The mood throughout the industry is excellent.
Our booth was swamped from 10 every morning at opening until almost 40 minutes after closing. Even Sunday was really busy. I can state with certainty that our industry is the strongest I've ever seen.
maybe a few older - old timers remember a better day but I sure can't. Speaking of which - Thank you Winston by the way for the nice props -JK :)

As I heard mentioned earlier there were numerous improvements by many companies to existing products. It is interesting that Ovals are getting more attention now. They are the best use of floor space and have so many advantages over round. Round obviously has advantages also but a really strong case can be made for consolidating floor space.

And the technology on the three ovals that I saw are absolutely jaw dropping. I still can't ever forget the Hydraulic Ovals that I knew like the back of my hand - what a difference 25 years makes.
I seriously think that the advancements made in this industry in the last 25 years is on pace or outpaces anything I have seen in other industries.

It only seemed that it was going to get off track, but as I said, it righted itself just fine with no interference.

It was mostly a joke. Hopefully sense of humor is still allowed.

So which one of you guys won a Kruzer?

Had no interest trying to build it since we just about never touch our manual now.

Hope some mom and pop shops that really needed them won them! cool contest to throw - bet M&R sold tons of Kruzers that weekend.

Most of our major equipment purchases are done.  One thing I really liked was the Tajima T-MAR-KC, we only have a few single head machines right now and need a multi head soon but can't fit it in this building.  A 6 head of that type is definitely on the list of needed equipment for right when we move.

Can't speak directly to this but there are indeed some interesting things developing in a few places. Not necessarily good interesting. Maybe scary interesting.

Another product I liked that we may buy is the SmartWasher.  It was at the edge of the M&R setup, uses 'OzzyJuice' to clean your squeegees/floodbars/spatulas etc. Very green, hopefully economical as well.

If anyone has shop experience with that let me know!
