quick dilemma with releasing a DST file.

I got a company that I do a LOT of computer work for and started doing some of their embroidery work.

I mainly work for a satellite office and even then the main company is under a "holding company" of a big guy that owns other LARGE companies.

Well, today the OWNER's SON asked if they had the embroidery file for this child company's logo.  They said no and then he asked for them to get it.

Well... he has NOTHING to do with this company so no one knows why he wants it.  The other company that does embroidery work (before I came along) won't release it (they never charged setup fees)... and now they are of course asking me for it.

I also did not charge setup/digitizing fee as I was essentially "stealing" business and treading lightly.  This is typically the game in the oil field.

So... do I give it up?  (It cost me a whooping $10 bucks)

If I do, do I give it up freely and look like the "better"/easier to work with guy?  OR do I charge them for it... if so  How much?

Quick part is because I got like 20 mins to make the decision :(

Sell it to them at double what you paid. (with the understanding also that they now own the rights to use it elsewhere)
At $20, everybody wins (as long as they come back to you)

I could and would charge more... I was tempted to say $90 bucks.

That's the thing... I know the guys here wouldn't go elsewhere TODAY... but who's to say corporate doesn't say "well, now we have the file so just send it out and get bids".

So now you are waffling between giving it away or selling it at a 900% mark-up.

I asked opinions.

Either I sell it and get something worth charging for it or I give it away as an act of good will.

I'm looking for opinions.  If I'm gonna charge then why not charge! :)
