Does anyone just FOLD UNDER the ends of paper platen tape?

I've never had an auto until now, and I've always just folded under the ends of my 16" platen paper instead of trimming flush. (About a 2-3 inch fold) They were Action Engineering Aluminum with Silicone Rubber Tops.

This Gauntlet sure needs new paper, and I'm debating whether to trim it flush on the ends.

We always fold under. Well we do one fully trimmed & then put another one on top folded to the under side. We have found that on long runs the shirt will start to catch the edge & start to fold back the tape if not.

We folded it under here also and when it starts to unfold which don't happen to often we just trim it flush.

Definitely falls on "what works 4" you category. I've seen it done several ways and they all work in those factories. One those things that press oops are persnicity about

I used to fold under, but found since it's not always pressed flat on the underside due to creases, etc. I started just taking a razor knife and trimming around the platen edge near the top (leaving a very small lip to press down) and that seems to have worked out better and does not let shirts catch or pull it up.

A little shot of spray tack in the back corners and a little across the front edge. Trim flush with the edge of the pallet with a razor blade.

Maybe a use for spray tac that doesn't nauseate me.

I decided to try flush trimming. So far so good. One board out of 10 is peeling up a little. I just taped it down with "safe release" masking tape.

I'm still evaluating.

lets go back to that water base stuff again, when our paper sometimes lifts from the pallet we simply apply some WB directly to the pallet rubber and or the underside of the tape let it dry and stick it down....it does not come off there again but is a bit of a PITA to clean up someday down the road.
