Help figuring out how to print this for fun/learning

So... My bro-in-law is co authoring this coffee table book:
And he wants this image on a shirt (black of course)... I first of course said it would be a transfer but then thought it might be a good multicolor job to learn with.
I know it's a lot to bite off but it will basically be for fun and learning.
So my question is how could I print this on a 6 color.... Technically I'm not limited because I will only print one (might do 4 since I have 4 stations) but I'm looking to reduce the colors/screens just to see how and learn. I'm thinking some half tone work could get some of those shades.

It might be possible to come pretty close (on black shirts) using just White, Yellow, and Red - with a lot of halftones - IMO. Close with those colors. Closer with adding Blue.

The print cn be done two ways sim or spot...Sim will take 6 colors and so will spot color, just pick the process your more comfy with.
white
red
yellow
tan or brown
blue?
black?

You could probably posterize it (it already looks posterized actually) to great effect.
I'd do:
WHITE
YELLOW
RED
FLESH or BROWN
GREY
BLACK
You might be able to use a lighter GREY for your base and just use a hilite WHITE.

I believe that Gilligan may still need to weigh the learning experience with the practicality and expense of seps and screens for a six color run of only 1-4 shirts (unless I misread something) with no chance of recouping those expenses other than education.
Quite a change from from the shoestring budget of two weeks ago. Positive, but quite a change.

I would do this sim process via channel seps or maybe index but probably straight channels.
UB Grey
Red
Yellow
Flesh
Hilite White
65lpi on 305/30 and 330/30. Dot shape and angle is going to be your preference but 22.5 round works well for many.
I think it's do-able in 5 colors but I didn't look super hard at it. It appears to have been auto-traced in illy which destroys a lot of your gradient transitions but makes your job easier.
You'll need to bone up on prepping the file and then sepping to channels in photoshop, too much to list here. It's not difficult at all to make the seps but your eye for color interaction as well as each plates behavior on press is going to make or break it. One tip I would give is to absolutely use a halftoned UB with the grey and be very methodical in how the UB and Hilite are going to interact. Presuming a good file to start with, next to your eye and skill with color and press parameters I think this is the next most critical part of sim process.
Good luck and be patient and prepared to go back to the 'ol drawing board a few times.

Thanks for all the replies... Keep the lessons coming.
Frog, you are right, big change... But when better to try new things.
This wouldn't be a job for money... I say four shirts because I have four plattens so might as well make the most of it right... And that is only if I needed more than 6 screens to do it right.
Besides time what are me real hard costs? Ten bucks? I can make my bro-in-law pay that
