Sabre Users

The Workhorse Sabre is a machine we are considering.  Interested in any user opinions or other observations.  I did notice in their users manual that images need to be 5.5" down from the top of the frame.  Anyone able to print higher?  Can the press run over 70 dz/hour?  The pallet holder is to the rear of the pallet, any pallet deflection?  Your comments are appreciated.

We have one... It's pretty slick.  You can push that a little and speed of print changes it a bit as well as it has to stop once it sees the proximity block in the sensor.  I can send you some close up pictures if you want.

One thing you might want to wait on is for them to fix the clearance on the squeegees.  Right now you have to have the squeegees at 15* to get just a 1/4" of clearance when in the up position.  If you go straight up and down you will be touching the mesh.

I have been in discussions with Phil about this and have been told they are working on correcting the issue.  Hopefully this happens soon as it's messing with our 55/95/55 squeegee when we try to put a heavy pressure on it. Not to mention we plain can't use any smiling jacks or double beveled squeegees right now.

Won't need the pictures, but thanks.  I did go to a customer site and did notice the squeegee clearance, but thought maybe it was installed incorrectly, because I was told there should be a 3/4" clearance.  So the 5.5" limited is based on the sensor, I did notice that the sensor was down the middle of the print carriage.

Well, all auto's have this sort of limitation.. the squeegee and flood bar can't be in the same place.  So when the squeegee is at the top of the frame the flood bar is trailing it... And vice versa.

Yup this issue has been addressed. We have an 8 color. Super fast, smooth, and gosh it's quiet!!!! The coolest thing is the functionality and ease of use of the tablet.

I have the new chopper system in my shop, just waiting on the tech.  Looking forward to really getting busy tuning everything in.

We switched from some 65 (maybe 62?) duro to stock 70 and it was about half the ink being laid down.  But it's hard to use that soft duro when you have to have an angle on it like we do now... It just buckles.  Looking forward to the changes we will be able to make!
