I love this but the city here would hang me if I tried to put this in. The code enforcement here is really tough.

What code do you think you would be violating by building your own booth?  The lighting can easily be made to pass code, and you can filter whatever comes out just like you would a standard booth.  All you are really doing is building the box and saving $1k+

the description says its "All laser cut aluminum"

i wouldnt use it to dehaze screens in - ive seen sodium hydroxide dehazers react with aluminum frames - looks like its foaming...

eh, shouldn't matter too much, most dehaze out there isn't that bad anymore.

Also, a surface reaction could be great for keeping the booth nice and clean

Here's my homebrew washout tank. The tub is a large HDPE rubbermade tub, the clear back and sides are HDPE mats meant for under office chairs on carpet.

Here's our rig. Chiped 30"x48" shower basin from Home Depot $50, a sheet of 3/4" plywood, two sheets of the fiberglass panels and some 1/4" Lexan.

I think it right side up. freak, did that fix it? Screw it just look at your monitor sideways.

Great job, I've been recommending the 'chipped' shower stall enclosure rig for years.  Some of the big box stores have given away 'defective' enclosures just to make them go away.

A little initiative and you can save $300-1000 bucks.

Got the tub from craigslist for free (guy literally found it on the side of the road he said, had some cracks in places that didn't matter to me). Back is a piece of plexi my landlord put by our dumpster, sides are a sheet of FRP board from lowe's.  Top is just a dollar store shower liner.  Screen holder is pvc with one of those steel industrial shelf brackets also from lowe's, and can be removed for larger screens.  Even with the pressure washer this one cost less than $200.

The booth easily accomodates my 58"x46" frame that I use for flag printing and all over stuff, which was pretty much the whole reason I built it to begin with.  I use this is my screen room and use it basically only for exposure washout and my large screens.  It is my "clean" booth in that sense.

Also included a shot of my diy exposure dip tank.  Holds a single 23x31 screen (can hold two, but it's tight).  Just treated plywood on the outside, FRP on the inside and marine caulk sealing it up.  It has extra metal "L"s around the outside edges for security, and is on casters.  The clamp is my hold down for the screens.  Works excellently

Approx 70"x30"22.5"

That one dimension would be a cramp for most of my screens.

Thanks for all the replies guys! At first I was not wanting to do a DIY one, my list of to do projects seems never ending! After checking out what some of you guys have done I'm thinking maybe we will try and move it to the front of the list.

That eBay one is not water tight, sounds like a headache waiting to happen!
