Going from i-Image to i-Image ST
What is the difference between the 2?

The main difference is the i image is epson based and the i image st has a ricoh industrial printhead
It's not a job if you love doing it.

No, we just use the heads. The ricoh head that we use is also used in 15-20 other printers in the large format inkjet side of the business. (Mimaki, vutek, etc...)

Was the i-image not were you were hoping for?  It seems odd that you would so quickly upgrade unless there were problems or you were very bad at estimating shop growth/needs (which seems unlikely for successful businessman like those upgrading).

Nobody else but Danny give the Anatol with the Ricoh printheads a shot?

i agree, but as an image user, I can see why you would want some more speed.  the epson end of it can be a pain.  we use it daily and we have an occasional hiccup here and there.

That being said, I wouldn't go back to films.

The Epson based i-Image is not as polished a unit as the complete M&R Machines are. It's a Epson printer at the end of the day that's been worked around to make it do what it is doing, but we all know what type of stuff these Epsons do from time to time.

We are having a great year and at the end of the day id rather have the better unit.  The Epson based i-Image gave me a taste of that and ill say that no way would I return to film even if I stuck with this one. I will report back how much better it is as we will get ours tomorrow.
