Howdy from Humble Texas
« on: October 15, 2014, 06:05:31 PM »
I've been active on several other boards over the years and wonder since stumbling into this group if it is the most active.

A little about me and my shop....We used to go by another name, Hometown Threads. My name is Steve Simons.

Texas Promowear - Humble, Texas (about 20 miles NE of downtown Houston)

We have a 8/6 Diamondback, a 10/8 Sportsman E EX, a new Unikote, a new M&R Mini Sprint Int'l coming and several things for sale that I've listed on Digitsmith as we're upgrading. We run 9 heads of embroidery and our base of customers is mainly work from home distributors.

We occasionally sub out print jobs that require more than 6-7 colors but can do some pretty amazing prints with just 5 colors.

I've met owners from a couple of shops in the area (embroidery and screen) and there are some fantastic people out there and even more that don't know what they're doing and muck it up for the rest of us. I know Richard Olivo from Rockpoint and he is an amazing business person. I know Elissa Elliot from Sunline in Katy and she is an awesome resource and as decent as a person as you would want to know.

I'd be curious if there are others in Houston that are as like minded as I am and interested in just bettering the industry and sharing ideas. This board seems like it's pretty active.

I'll be lurking and posting. :)

Welcome Steve! Glad to see you over here, don't know why I didn't mention the forum yesterday on the phone. You're going to like this place!

Thanks Tance. It looks like I might have the Fusion Dryer sold. The buyer is right here in Houston and I told him I would deliver it and set it up for him.

Let me know on the flash units. No hurry. I've had a few calls but no takers. They're just enamored with anything used M&R and like shopping, I guess. And don't forget about that RollerMaster and M3 frames!

Howdy Steve
As for most active, probably not, as for most useful for anyone above beginner level, that's another story!
You be the judge, welcome aboard.

Hi Steve,
congrats on joining this awesome board. I'm about 10 miles west of you.

Elissa is awesome, as is most of everyone at Sunline.

I just got on here and only saw your post because I just made one in the same section. I am looking  to get an auto very soon. Don't know if there are PM'S here but I would like your input on the diamondback
